Simply the best worship band I have ever heard. The composer, Ben Crist, is the brains of this operation. He delivers music that is purely from the heart. And, in my opinion, that is worth the price of gold today. Anointed is the only word that comes to mind when I try and describe their presence.
Anyway, the main point I’d like to convey is this: so far (under my observations), they have been very misunderstood by the mainstream Christian media. On the other hand, they have been an absolute hit with the underground music scene. Granted, they are signed to BEC and Tooth and Nail, the latter having been known for their more underground music. They also house the power house record label we know today as Solid State Records. On the other hand, BEC (another sub-label to T&N like Solid State) houses mainstream hits like KJ-52 and KUTLESS!
What is so captivating about this group? What makes them so relevant to the underground music?
I have two answers.
First, is I find that labels such as T&N and Solid State sign bands that are anointed and thus more understood by those that actually are anointed. Or I could be psycho.
Second reason is their style/genre. Because their worship music is so out of the norm and drastically different, they are accepted more-so by the fans of music that is already obscure (by mainstream standards, of course). Amirite? Aren’t fans of metal, hardcore, emo, THE SCENE, more accepting of sounds that are, in a word… different?
Or I could be psycho.
EDIT: P.S. Go listen to them!!!!!!
